Dr. Jeremy Lim writes in the Straits Times that he believes that the entire Yale-NUS saga underscores the importance of the collaboration for Singaporeans and Yale.
Singaporeans will benefit from a liberal education, and learn to cognize of world issues differently. Yale has the opportunity to project its “soft-power”, and “shape and be shaped by the Asian Renaissance”.
At its core, the project is about “educational exchange” which requires empathy and a better understanding of each other. Both parties should also learn from each other and cooperate for mutual success.
